The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on enhancing communication, building stronger emotional connections, and effectively managing conflict. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the method is grounded in decades of research on what makes relationships successful. It involves practical tools and techniques to help couples improve their relationship by focusing on things like understanding each other’s needs, managing conflict constructively, and building a deep sense of mutual respect and affection. The goal is to create a relationship that not only lasts but thrives.

For a 60 min session, to offer a more personalized and exclusive therapeutic experience, I operate as an out-of-pocket provider and do not accept insurance directly. This allows me to focus entirely on your unique needs without the constraints of insurance companies.
However, I understand that you might have out-of-network benefits, and I can facilitate the reimbursement process for you. I use Thrizer to submit the necessary documentation on your behalf, making it easier for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to ask!

The duration of therapy varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Some couples may find significant improvement in a few sessions, while others might benefit from a longer-term commitment. We’ll regularly review your progress and adjust our approach as needed to ensure that you’re moving towards the outcomes you desire. Your commitment and active participation are key to the success of the process.

In our first session, we’ll start by discussing your relationship history, current challenges, and goals for therapy. This initial session is designed to understand your unique situation and establish a foundation for our work together. You can expect a supportive, non-judgmental space where we’ll explore your needs and begin developing a personalized plan to help you achieve your relationship goals.

Couples therapy can be beneficial if you’re experiencing challenges in communication, intimacy, or managing conflict, or if you simply want to strengthen your relationship. It’s an opportunity to gain insights into your relationship dynamics, develop effective communication skills, and deepen your emotional connection. If you’re unsure whether therapy is the right step, I offer an initial consultation where we can discuss your concerns and goals to determine how therapy might help.
-
Absolutely. Therapy isn’t just for addressing problems; it can also be a proactive step to enhance an already strong relationship.
